About Mermaid Dream School

Lenisa Ann Careaga founder of Mermaid Dream School from a lifelong passion for the ocean and a dream of becoming a real-life mermaid. Inspired by the magic, confidence, and transformation that mermaiding brought into her own life, Lenisa created Mermaid Dream School to share those experiences with others through education, performance, and underwater adventure.

Lenisa first became a mermaid in Maui in 2018 while modeling mermaid tails for Mermaids on Maui. Growing up with a love for swimming and the water, she joined her high school swim team and later pursued work as a swim instructor. Her background in modeling, acting, and aquatic skills helped open the door to professional mermaiding, where she discovered a unique blend of fantasy, confidence, creativity, and ocean connection.

Her mermaid journey quickly expanded onto the competition stage. Competing as Miss Mermaid Texas, Lenisa earned the prestigious title of Miss Mermaid USA 2019. During her reign, she advocated for environmental awareness and ocean conservation while inspiring others through the art of mermaiding. She later represented on the international stage at Miss Mermaid International, placing in the Top 12 and receiving the “Best Friendship” award.

Driven by a passion for helping others grow in confidence and self-expression, Lenisa combined her mermaid experience with her background in yoga, meditation, and wellness education to create Mermaid Dream School. Her vision was to build a safe, inspiring environment where students could learn swimming skills, water safety, underwater performance, and ocean appreciation while discovering their own inner magic.

Today, Mermaid Dream School offers professional mermaid entertainment, PADI Mermaid certifications, aquarium performances, and mermaid experiences across the United States. Lenisa’s mission is to help students of all ages create unforgettable memories, gain confidence in the water, and develop a deeper appreciation for the beauty of the ocean and aquatic world.
